Composite Decking Refurbishment.

On this project the customer requested that he wanted to re-use the existing deck boards, as you will see from the pictures below this was quite a big ask.

The current composite decking area was sadly incorrectly installed, this led to the composite joists underneath failing, which in turn started damaging the deck boards. Along with this, non-tanalised timber was used for the steps and other areas of the decking, this reduced the lifespan of the deck immensely.

Luckily we managed to remove all the decking boards without damaging them, we then constructed a substantial decking frame using tanalised timber and re-fixed the old boards to the new frame successfully.

A new set of steps was built and it was all completed with a simple ranch-style handrail.

Below is a collection of pictures taken before, during and after this project.
